Kincolith

I traveled up to Kincolith last week to assist the Village government with some projects. This First Nation's village is north of Prince Rupert at the mouth of the Nass River, close to the bottom of the Alaskan panhandle. About 450 aboriginals live here. It was beautiful! The people were friendly and the scenery breath-taking. This it the front of their newly completed longhouse.

Here's shot of the interior of the longhouse. They have a village band and also dancers who practice and perform here.

The Anglican church is 100 years old and recently had some work done to it for the celebrations. I'm going back! They have only had a road in for 2 years. The drive in is along a river and through lava fields, where a relatively recent lava flow occurred.

It was magic!
